I had turned around to a tap on my shoulder only to come face to face with the guy I had my eye on for the earlier part of the evening. From a distance he resembled Ashton Kutcher. Up close and personal he resembled more Gale Harold from Queer As Folk. He asked me if I could do him a favor and take a picture of him and his friends. I said yes, mostly because I was so excited this guy had asked me out of all the people standing around the club. Okay I know thats a little obsessive but, isn't it a little weird that I spotted him the moment he walked through the door and he ended up coming up to me and asking me to do him a favor? I thought so and so did my friend Josiah. The rest of the night Josiah tried to get me to go up to him and talk to him but I wouldn't do it. I was so nervous and was coming up with every excuse in the book not to talk to him. Everything from he probably has a boyfriend, to he looks to old for me, you name the excuse I probably used it. At one point Josiah's friend Chris pulled me on the dance floor because he was going to try and get me to dance with the guy cause Chris apparently knew the guy. I refused and sat on the sidelines. Don't get me wrong I still had my share of fun. I danced with my friends and this blonde guy who I thought was a friend of Josiah's but really was just dancing near him to get closer to me. His name was Brian and he was cute but not really my type. I sat and talked with him for a bit. Turns out he was 31 with a kid so there was no way anything was happening there. I was pretty much ready to go and saw Josiah hanging around the guy I liked and his group of friends. I quickly grabbed Josiah and told him I was ready to go but, he kept stalling for some reason. Then while I was waiting for him to get ready to leave I saw him talking to the guy and all I could think was "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you" the guy and Josiah came up to me and he said "Hey Tom" I said "Hi" and engaged in what was such an awkward conversation. I was looking for any excuse to get out of there. The guys name was Evan and he was really sweet. Josiah tapped my shoulder and pointed and I took that as come with me over there so I walked away from Evan only to have Josiah reem me for totally blowing it by walking away. We looked toward the exit to see Evan leaving and Josiah said "Look now he's leaving" I grabbed his arm and said "and so are we". I suddenly had an adrenaline rush possibly from the thought that if Evan left with out me really trying to speak to him that I would have completly blown it with him. I made my way toward the exit and tapped Evan's shoulder and asked if I could have his number so we could hang out some time. He said sure and after I got his number I said goodbye, hugged him, and kissed him on the lips (no tongue). I left the club content with myself and my final actions of the night. The first thing I said when I got in the car was Happy Birthday to me!
